This is the second painting like this I have made, so it may be the start of a series. I love the lightness of the paper plane, as well as the nostalgia it represents. The blue lined paper effect I did here transports me back to my school physics notebook. That feeling of new stationery in September and crisp new paper is definitely one of the things I miss about school.
I work with geometric shapes a lot, also in my landscape work. For some reason I particularly love triangular shapes in painting. Maybe it stems from being taught about the triangular composition in college still life class.
